Event Overview
YWCA is on a mission! You may not know that the YWCA of Metropolitan Detroit has been serving women and children in the Detroit area for over 120 years. This year is no different. More specifically, we are looking to bring awareness and raise funds to support the operation of the YWCA Interim House. Ranked among one of the oldest and largest in the State of Michigan, YWCA Interim House is a temporary emergency shelter that provides empowerment based linkages to a “fresh start” to families, women and their minor children that are victims of intimate partner domestic violence. We need your help.
On Thursday, September 19, 2019 we will host an Evening of Jazz fundraising event. The event will be held at Shriner’s Silver Garden, 24350 Southfield Road, Southfield, Michigan and starts at 6 p.m. At this event, attendees will enjoy the sounds of Saxophonist, Alan Day and Friends Jazz Band, participate in a raffle, silent auction, and win prizes. We think our efforts would go even farther with your organization as one of our official corporate sponsors. In this role, your business would select to give under one of the sponsorship levels on the attached form, we would in turn promote your company as one of the event’s official sponsors.
With your organization by our side at this upcoming event. we’re sure to achieve this season’s fundraising goal which will help continue to provide services including temporary emergency shelter, food, clothing, individual/group counseling, case management, personal needs, childcare services, transportation, referrals to other community services, resources, personal protection orders and a “Links Educational Center”, our computer based lab with internet, that allow the children to complete homework assignments, parents can prepare resumes and seek employment.
